Last night, the WHHS Auditorium was filled with pride and celebration as Bailey Middle School held its annual National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) Induction Ceremony, honoring 166 students for their academic achievement, leadership, service, citizenship, and character.
The evening began with heartfelt remarks from district leaders. Superintendent Neil Cavallaro encouraged students with the words: “Be proud of what you’ve accomplished, but know there’s so much more that lies ahead.”
Assistant Superintendent Judith Drenzek added, “You are all outstanding role models. I can’t wait to see what you do in the coming years—whether you’re heading into 8th grade or starting high school.”
Principal Taryn Driend expressed her pride, saying, “I am so proud to be your principal.”
Following the speeches, the ceremony continued with a candle lighting presentation, highlighting the five core pillars of NJHS: Scholarship, Citizenship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Students were then presented with certificates and special recognitions, followed by the official NJHS Pledge taken by all new members.
Great job to the Bailey band, who performed beautifully and helped make the evening even more special.
Congratulations to all the inductees on this well-deserved honor—your dedication and leadership are an inspiration to the Bailey community!
