On Monday evening, Bailey Middle School welcomed its newest National Junior Honor Society members during a special ceremony held at West Haven High School. The ceremony marked a meaningful milestone for students who have demonstrated consistent academic effort along with a strong commitment to their school community.

On Tuesday morning, West Haven High School hosted its annual National Honor Society induction ceremony, officially welcoming new members into the organization. The candle lighting ceremony highlighted the four pillars of NHS: scholarship, character, leadership, and service.

Students participating in the ceremony took the NHS oath, received certificates recognizing their achievement, and were formally inducted into the society. Senior members were also recognized for their continued dedication and were presented with pins to wear at graduation in honor of their commitment.

Together, both ceremonies reflected the district’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and leadership development.

Judy Drenzek, Assistant Superintendent of West Haven Public Schools, reflected on the significance of the accomplishment, saying, “These accomplishments are results of years of dedication and perseverance and I encourage you to strive for this excellence in the years to come. Congratulations to each and everyone of you this is truly deserved.”

West Haven Mayor Dorinda Borer also addressed the inductees, saying, “Honorary Inductees, I want to know that I stand before you as one really proud mayor. You are exactly what makes our city shine and I congratulate each and everyone of you for your very hard work, your dedication, and your commitment to our community.”
