Bailey Middle School recently hosted an SBA Breakfast to recognize students who showed growth on their ELA and Math SBA assessments and performed well on the Science NGSS test. Students enjoyed breakfast and had the chance to win a variety of prizes through the Wheel of Knowledge, including gift cards, special activities, and even the opportunity to pie Mrs. Driend or a teacher of their choice! Today, Bailey welcomed special guest Andy Sarkany, who shared his inspiring presentation, “Living Life to the Fullest… My Journey to Freedom.” Andy spoke with students about surviving the Holocaust, living under the Soviet regime in Hungary, and eventually building a new life in the United States. Students also participated in a thoughtful Q&A session following the presentation. ✨

Bailey 7th graders visited WHHS today for a special preview of the drama department’s spring production of The Jungle Book! The cast did a fantastic job and gave students an exciting first look at the show ahead of opening night. Both performances at WHHS will feature the full production in costume, beginning tomorrow at 7:00pm, with another showing Saturday at 2:00pm. You won’t want to miss it! 🎭🐻

The Bailey Middle School 8th Grade Band competed at the Music in the Parks Competition at Six Flags New England this past weekend, earning a Superior Rating, 1st Place in their division, the Overall Trophy for the highest middle school score, and the Esprit de Corps Trophy for outstanding spirit and character. This past Friday, May 8th, The Bailey 8th Grade Band participated in the Music in the Parks Competition at Six Flags New England, performing alongside bands, orchestras, and choirs from across the region. They were evaluated by the Associate Music Professor from the University of New Haven and an adjunct music professor from the University of Michigan.
Our students earned a Superior Rating and 1st Place in their division, along with the Overall Trophy for the highest middle school score. Even more impressively, they were the only group across all grades and divisions to receive the Esprit de Corps Trophy. It was a complete sweep and a truly outstanding achievement.
