Mohammed Hasan, son of bilingual tutor Reem Hasan, visited Bailey Middle School today to present his first-place-winning presentation from the Future Business Leaders of America! His presentation featured a website that he created for a fictional hotel. He won first place for the state and will be representing Connecticut at Nationals this summer. Mohammed migrated to the US from Syria when he was in the first grade. He spoke Arabic at the time and didn’t know any English. However, through hard work and perseverance, he’s now bilingual and learning to speak French while excelling academically. Mohammed’s success story was very motivational for our EL students!
